Sally Clark's writing career began with journaling following the birth of her first grandchild 18 years ago. Sally and her husband live in Fredericksburg, Texas, near their two children and five grandchildren.

A sturdy little book

This is a book to read over and over with a child intrigued with hide and seek who really wants to be caught with a hug. What fun! I also found the book to be of study construction, an important fact for books designed to be handled by little hands.

Great Illustrations, Easy to Read, A Winner With Kids

This book is so creative on so many levels, the kids just adore it.

For starters this book has adorable illustrations.They are child friendly, light and lively. A winner in the eyes of kids. The text is also amazing. The sentences are short yet full of details and easy to follow. This allows the kids to read with ease and work on comprehension skills at the same time.

As for the story line, is amazing. It is about determination. I would also say it teaches the kids to think. Min has a problem. Instead of getting frustrated, she figures out a way around it.

Great book. It helps the kids learn to read while following Min.

Johnny's chance for adventure finally comes when he must track down Albert Einstein's diary, which contains all the extreme secrets of the universe. Einstein hid the diary in his house before he died. For the next sixty years, every government in the world has ransacked and probed the house, searching desperately for the diary, but they came up completely empty. However, when Johnny teams up with Azelia, his arch-nemesis, they find it in one hour.

Following the clues that Einstein laid out in his the diary, Johnny and Azelia, arguing every single second, embark on an incredible adventure to save the world from a doomsday machine that destroys the planet every 25,000 years.

Andrew Lang (March, 31, 1844 July 20, 1912) was a Scottish writer and literary critic who is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. Lang s academic interests extended beyond the literary and he was a noted contributor to the fields of anthropology, folklore, psychical research, history, and classic scholarship, as well as the inspiration for the University of St. Andrew s Andrew Lang Lectures. A prolific author, Lang published more than 100 works during his career, including twelve fairy books, in which he compiled folk and fairy tales from around the world. Lang s Lilac Fairy and Red Fairy books are credited with influencing J. R. R. Tolkien, who commented on the importance of fairy stories in the modern world in his 1939 Andrew Lang Lecture On Fairy-Stories.

Great for reading aloud!

This a reprint of a book that was written about 100 years ago, and yet, when do stories of saints, heroes, chivalry and adventure become old? In the preface, husband and wife Andrew and Lenora Lang explain how legends full of wonderful and sometimes imaginary creatures and events entered the stories of the saints of the Church.

The language is very suitable for reading aloud, and the saints come alive from different countries, cultures and centuries. Some of the lesser-known saints whose stories are beautifully told in this book include Saints Dorothea, Malchus, Germanus, Cuthbert, Columba, Senan, Dunstan, Collete, and more!

Our homeschool children enjoy listening the lives of the saints immensely, especially when they can inspire the imagination, the spirit, and challenge our discoveries in history and geography. Indeed, the Book of Saints and Heroes can do just that, and it has been placed in our waiting list for saints read-alouds! This will make an excellent gift

Very good-- for older children

This collection of saints stories is well done. It includes some saints who are little known, such as St. Richard of Chichester and St. Germanus. The illustrations inside are lovely pen and ink (no color). Definitely worth adding to your collection.

One Caveat: the language and attention to historical and geographical detail make it suitable for ages 12 and up, perhaps a little younger (10) for reading aloud.

About the Author
Diane Lobsiger is an electrical instructor at Delta College in University Center, Michigan. She instructs students in the Skilled Trades-Electrician program, Wind Turbine Technology program, and Pre-Engineering program. In her prior work as a senior manufacturing controls engineer for 24 years, she gained a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in the design, troubleshooting, specification writing, and approval of machine controls systems. Her expertise includes relay control systems, programmable logic controllers, human-machine interfaces, servo systems, adjustable frequency drives, and fluid power systems. She earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Auburn University and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from Michigan State University. She recently obtained her Secondary Teaching Certification in mathematics and physics from Saginaw Valley State University. In her free time, she can usually be found fishing at her cabin.

overpriced

This book has 378 sides where 18 of them are glossary and index. The book is printed unnecessarily with so big font furthermore, easy ladder diagrams often use space of whole side.All the contents of the book would use no more than 160 sides if this book would be printed with an ordinary form as another textbooks.In my point of view author thinks customers are idiots and will not find out tricks that she/he used.Book has some mistakes also.F.exmpl on side 24 example 2 ,formula says 3 x line voltage, it should be the square root of 3 x line voltage. Almost 100$ for this book is realy too much, but book is generally ok.

About the Author

Born in 1941 in North Yorkshire, Robert Jackson was educated at Richmond School, Yorkshire. He is a full-time writer and lecturer, mainly on aerospace and defence issues, and was the defence correspondent for North of England Newspapers.
He is the author of more than 60 books on aviation and military subjects, including operational histories on famous aircraft such as the Mustang, Spitfire and Canberra.
A former pilot and navigation instructor, he was a squadron leading in the RAF Volunteer Reserve. The author lives in Darlington, UK.

The beginning of the 109 myth

This 18th title in the nice “AIR VANGUARD” series published by Osprey and written by the famed Robert Jackson is focused on the first A to D variants of the legendary fighter. These versions were still propelled by the V12 Junkers Jumo engine, a honest engine but not comparable to the excellent Daimler Benz DB 601 and 605 that were fitted from the E series on.
However, still with the limitations of this engine, the Bf. 109 demonstrated excellent potential against its rivals, both in the Spanish Civil war contest in the Condor Legion’s units and in the first WW2 campaign, notably on the Polish front. The Author underlines that the extremely advanced aerodynamics and light structure of this fighter, a fruit by the long experience with sailplanes of Prof. Willy Messerschmitt make the Bf.109 a real astounding fighter since the beginning.
The beautiful iconographic section by Adam Tooby completes a “must” for WW2 aviation enthusiasts on one of the few planes that truly earns the "Legend of the air" title.
As a side note til now the Bf.109 remains the most produced fighter in history (there is not a right number, but estimations vary between 33.000 and 35.000 produced units) and the plane of the aces. The Bf. 109’s far and wide operational career (1936-1945) is still more remarkable considering the dramatic and fast improvements introduced during that period. Just to give the evidence of the progress of that era, in the year of 109's 1st flight (1935) one of the most appreciated fighter was the Italian biplane FIAT CR.32 barely reaching 400 km/h whereas at the other end in 1944 with the 109's prod. line running at full boost the twin jet Me. 262, more resembling a sci-fi creature than a WW2's plane, could fly at 900 km/h. But the Bf. 109 was still standing at the forefront of the Luftwaffe’s squadrons.
