Jeffrey Ebbeler has been creating art for children for almost a decade. He has done a variety of projects, including illustrations for magazines, CD covers, and book covers, as well as paper engineering for pop-up books. He has illustrated two children's books, Bake You a Pie (Tricycle Press) and Punxsutawney Phyllis (Holiday House). He and his wife both attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati. They currently live in Chicago with their three cats, Annie, Punch, and Judy.

but not like the other "We both Read" books that we own

This is actually 2 different stories. I bought it thinking it was about an ant with a pancake but actually it is one story about an ant and a different story about pancakes. Cute... but not like the other "We both Read" books that we own. Not my very favorite, but worth keeping!

Wonderful motivator

LOVE these books! The grade levels are accurate. The kindergartener-going-on-first-grader can read the K level books just fine, and struggles with the first grade parts. She loves the stories, and they're great incentive to work on reading skills.
