Manners must be taught to children early and continued as the child grows. It is important that parents are a good role model in teaching manners and character development. Children learn to emulate actions that they see from Mom and Dad, therefore parents need to be sure that their words and actions are positive. This book serves as a tool to reinforce the courtesies that parents are teaching their children. Mothers and Fathers must start when a child is young teaching their children the courtesies and social skills needed for success.
About the Author
Gail Reed and her husband, Travis, live in Evans, Georgia. She has two adult daughters, Shelli and Whitney, and five grandchildren. After retiring from forty years of teaching, Mrs. Reed decided she still wanted to educate children. This book was written to help young people develop the social skills needed for success.

I am currently getting my PhD in early childhood special education, and I have also taught general education so it's safe to say that I have read my fair share of children's books. This book hits all notes: it is an engaging story that teaches manners, the illustrations are vibrant and unique, and it incorporates relevant and current themes that apply to young children today while staying true to the classic appeal of a children's story. Highly recommended.

This book is a wonderful way to introduce manners to young children

As a parent, I desire to raise my children to have manners that serve them rather than detract from who they are. This book is a wonderful way to introduce manners to young children. Through a sweet story and beautiful illustrations children learn manners and become conscious of their behavior. They learn what is polite, such as saying "thank you" and "you are welcome" and what is impolite such as talking with food in your mouth. Children will only know what we have taught them, and this book is a wonderful way to begin incorporating these important lessons.
