Hyper.

After reading the blurb about this book I just had to read it! The plot is like no other book I have ever read before, it is completely unique. A lot of books are just recycled plots with different characters- but this book is totally out of left field (in a good way). The book is set thirty years after an Ebola vaccine got contaminated and made almost every man in the world impotent. The main character is a fifteen year old boy named Aiden who is not affected by the disease. Before Aiden became Hyper, as they call being resistant to the disease, he was a nerdy sort of kid that girls didn't give the time of day. Aiden's new hyper status gets him into trouble pretty quickly because he is fooling around with several older women, which is illegal, and he ends up in a youth detention center for a little while.
This book isnt erotica like I thought maybe it would be from the description, though there are a few quirky things that go on- but it is actually better for it, because the focus is really on developing the story rather than getting graphic about the fact that pretty much EVERY woman is now attracted to Aiden.
Aiden's Mom is a scientist that is studying the disease and trying to find a cure and Aiden agrees to let the scientist study him, which opens up a whole different branch of the plot.
This is a really interesting book. It is well written and will keep you turning the pages to see what the heck is going to happen next!

Well written, held my interest

An unusual and interesting story following the life of a teen boy, after a virus has had devestating effects on human males. It covers the struggles he goes through as he deals with a sex drive that is in overdrive, just the opposite of nearly all the other males on earth. The search for a cure is underway by a powerful, and possibly unethical, drug company which leads to suicide and possible murder. I found the story entertaining and am looking forward to the next installment.

Great Take on the Dystopian Novel

Hyper by Lawrence Ambrose is a cool take on the dystopian novel. Aiden Stevens has a heightened sex drive and he’s one hell of a lady killer because of it, especially since the majority of men are impotent. The story is well written and I found myself engrossed with the book. I thought Aiden was a great character and the supporting cast were also very interesting and well developed. Definitely a must read if you’re looking for a different take on the post apocalyptic story.
