The Wind, the Road and the Way (The Epic Order of the Seven Book 3), by Jenny Cote

Eleven terrified disciples cower in the Upper Room, wondering what it to become of them. Jesus is dead, crucified on a cruel Roman cross. Its only a matter of time before the Jewish leaders come after them to crush what their self proclaimed "Messiah" started with 'The Way' movement. Little do these men know that soon they will boldly turn the world upside down as they fulfill Jesus' Great Commission. A self-righteous, model Pharisee named Saul sets out on a zealous quest to arrest and murder as many followers of 'The Way' as he can, beginning with Stephen. Little does this Christian killer know he'll soon be stopped in his tracks on the road to Damascus to become the greatest Christian that ever lived. Through his pen he'll prove that no one is beyond hope if any man be in Christ, he is new creation.

After a brief, joyous reunion with Jesus and the exhilarating arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the Order of the Seven animals split up for multiple missions as Christianity explodes onto the world's stage. Max, Liz and Nigel set off with Paul as he faces beatings, rejection and imprisonment to bring the Good News to the world. Al accompanies his favorite fisherman- turned-Apostle Peter to find the first Gentile convert while creating a perfect, secret symbol for the Way. Kate is blessed to protect Mary and John in Jerusalem where the Church gets its start. The team must face a dark, pagan world riddled with false gods, arrange crucial introductions, assist with jail-breaks and plan risky escapes while overseeing the writing of the New Testament that will inspire and guide believers for centuries to come. But they still find time for fun and games with a monkey names Nate as the Animalympics are born during the human Isthmian Games.

This heart-gripping, action-packed adventure begins a two-book saga that brings to life the events of Acts and the birth of Christianity while showing how each book of the New Testament came to be. The Wind, the Road and the Way covers Resurrection morning through Paul's second missionary journey.

An amazing read. The characters fell right into place, bringing the Easter story together before my eyes in each scene. Ms. Cote gives readers a vivid example of how life may have been like for those living during those early days. I loved the biblical history and getting to know the lifestyles and historical details of Acts. Ms. Cote weaves the Gospel of Jesus throughout the lives of the people. If you enjoy biblical fiction, I highly recommend The Wind, the Road and the Way. Thank you, Ms. Cote, for an amazing account of God's love for us.

Dissapointed
By SCOTT CAMPBELL
As a reader of the entire series of Jenny Cote's books, I have eagerly read each book in her Amazing Tales of Max & Liz series. Both books made me cry, laugh out loud, and experience the animals' journeys as if I was really there with them. The eagerness I felt when Mrs. Cote came out with her new series, Epic Order of the Seven, was met by disappointment. By the time I finished this book, I was getting somewhat annoyed with how each story in her new series was. Let me tell you why:

First, too boring. Most reviews will tell you opposite, but the reason I thought these books were somewhat boring was because of the story plot. While the first two books she came out with were filled with humor, tragedy, and unexpected twists, the three books in her new series are predictable, without any kind of strong adversary, and lack any of the sweaty nervousness that is felt with The Ark and The Dreamer.

Also, it seems like all the animals do is just watch the events unfold before them, instead of trying to do any harrowing jobs or dangerous assignments. I always get annoyed when the new character Claire keeps changing into different people and spoiling the excitement by blatantly telling what's going to happen to this person, or with that situation. Although I admire Jenny Cote's attempt to follow the events of Paul and Peter, Mrs. Cote follows the people so much that the book can drag out and get boring. I thought this was about the Epic Order of the Seven trying to fulfill the events, not trying to watch as the events unfold!

Finally, about the adversary. Basically, there is little scenes if any of the bad guys. Whenever they try to stop the animals' plans, they always, always fail. I wish she could develop a smart enemy who could at least thwart or delay their plans, but oh no; we have to have the good guys always win. You can't have a book that keeps your attention if your characters are not getting into any dangerous, heart-pounding messes. However, I do understand that this book is targeted for younger readers (hence the reason I give this book three stars instead of two).

Despite the fact I don't really care for this book and the last two, I really am amazed at how God is using Mrs. Cote to touch the hearts of children all over America with her books. That's why I encourage her to keep going with these books and don't stop. But for us teenagers who still read them; a little more action, please! :) I can only hope that Mrs. Cote's next book will be more like her first one, The Ark, the Reed, and the Fire Cloud. And that is why I will readily purchase every new book she puts out. I just hope the next book will not disappoint me like the last three; but if you are looking for a good read-aloud book, or if you are looking for a good book for your child that honors God, this one is great for both!

Wow! The Wind the Road, and the Way was another incredible look on Biblical history through the unique eyes of Max, Liz, and the Epic Order of Seven. It was so amazing to read about stories from your Bible from such a perspective that makes the same stories so much more alive and real. Throughout the book my heart caught many times at God's awesome power, but I nearly cried when Paul mentioned all of Jesus' titles, it was just so real and personal. Once again, another book that takes God's truth, and make them so much more personal, so much more real.

This heart-gripping, action-packed adventure begins a two-book saga that brings to life the events of Acts and the birth of Christianity while showing how each book of the New Testament came to be. The Wind, the Road, and the Way covers Resurrection morning through Paul’s second missionary journey. The Fire, the Revelation and the Fall (2015) completes the events in Acts, Peter and Paul in Rome, Roman Christian persecution in the arena and John’s Revelation on Patmos. Watch the miraculous rise of the Church through the fiery trials sent by an Enemy who will stop at nothing to kill anyone who dares to be called Christian.

From Jesus' ascension to Paul's letters you are on an adventure of a lifetime

Jenny does such an excellent job bringing biblical times to life. Her research is thourough and her creativeness is exciting to read. She is such an amazing person, always enerjetic and taking time to know her readers. Each time I read her books I learn so much new stuff, its like taking a Bible study and history class at the same time. As a teen I LOVE the Epic Order of the Seven series, and definitely recommend this book; the sequel is a must read as well.

I would rate this book 10 out of 10 stars.
