Title says it all

Yes, the title really does say it all. The Baby-Sitters Club is a fun club to be part of, but of course the girls have lives outside of the club, and this book shows that. It shows a realistic way of how the group you are part of is not your whole life.

REALISTIC: Growing up, and growing apart...

When I was younger, I really disliked Stacey in this book (I sort of do now). I thought that she was so rude to the other BSC members, and she needed to get off her high horse. Yet, as I revisited this book a few years later I couldn't believe how much I could relate to her. We all have some friends that we have more in common with than others, and since the beginning of the series Ann Martin made it clear that Stacey (and Claudia) is more... sophisticated than the other members. She just has other interests than babysitting, and that includes seeing her boyfriend Robert, and hanging out with his friends who she believes are cooler and more mature. Yes, she was still a snob but I am sure we have all gone through something like this (hopefully, not as extreme). I felt as if the conversations had in this book was very realistic and relatable, and hopefully Stacey will realize what is important to her. You know what they say..."You don't know what you have until it's gone."

The characters were a stretch

I really didn't believe that Kristy would act that obnoxious...a lot of the things the characters did were out of character. The author bent them to fit the story. Also, Claudia got furious at Stacey for having the party and inviting her ("putting her in the middle"), but Claudia is the one that chose to go...it's on her head, if you ask me. So, it was a bit annoying, but we still thought the book was OK...so 3 stars.
