Author Joel Tator has produced and directed more than 8,500 broadcasts and collected 25 Emmy Awards along the way. Material in this book was collected from various Los Angeles television anniversary programs, interviews conducted with local television personalities, and photographs from the archives of the Museum of Broadcast Communications, founded by broadcaster Bruce DuMont in 1982.

I can't recommend highly enough Joel Tator's new book

For those interested in LA Television, I can't recommend highly enough Joel Tator's new book, "Los Angeles Television." Mr. Tator has captured all the history, nostalgia, behind-the-scenes stories through text, clippings, promotions, excellent photos, even television tickets (another hobby of Joel's). Whether your interest is in celebs, studio facilities, tech curiosities, or just local history, this is a treasure trove. And no, I have no ties to the book or Mr. Tator; just glad to have picked up this great work!

A must for anyone who watches television!

An excellent, comprehensive and thoroughly fascinating look at the history of Los Angeles television, with numerous rare photographs of long gone eras that will bring back wonderful memories of a simpler time. Includes wonderful insights from a television pioneer into the shows and newscasts that helped shape television as we know it.

Brilliant! A marvelous compendium of stories and pictures from the earliest days of experimental TV in Los Angeles up to the present day. With his years of experience, Mr. Tator has pulled together a wonderful collection of memories and rarely told stories that make this book a must-have for anyone who loves television.
