About the Author
A. Kayode Coker, Ph.D., is an engineering Coordinator at Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Company, in Jubail, Saudi Arabia and is a consultant for AKC Technology in the UK. Prior to this he was Chairman of the Chemical and Process Engineering Department at Jubail Industrial College. He has also been a chartered scientist and a chartered chemical engineer for over 30 years. Coker is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. UK, (C.Eng, CSci, FIChemE) and a senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He holds a B.Sc. honors degree in Chemical Engineering, a Master of Science degree in Process Analysis and Development, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, all from Aston University, Birmingham, UK. He also has a Teachers’ Certificate in Education from the University of London, UK. He has directed and conducted short courses in both the UK and for SABIC industries in Saudi Arabia. His articles have been published in several international journals, he is an author of four books in chemical engineering and a contributor to the Encyclopaedia of Chemical Processing and Design, Vol. 61. Coker was named as one of the International Biographical Centre's Leading Engineers of the World 2008.

Not for Kindle

It seems that Kindle (for a start only Kindle for PC) does not allow for printing. For professional books this is a major shortcoming. Bought to have some reference in frequent travelling but having to read complex diagrams an equations on the screen where one sees only part at the time is very cumbersome. Adobe Digital Editions on a PC is much more convenient. One can print parts of the book to scribble on while working.
Kindle may be good for Pride and Prejudice but difficult for reference books.
This is not a comment on the content, which many engineers know and use for years.
Unless I haven't found the way for printing yet.

Great book for the process engineer

I recommend the book for the practicing process engineer. I contains a wealth of information on equipment design methods along with many worked examples and supplemental materials for specific design and analysis tasks.

Practical heat transfer knowledge

This is a review of the most recent version. fourth edition volume 3. The heat transfer section is nearly 500 pages of practical knowledge, especially the troubleshooting section. There is a large section on the design and rating of heat exchangers. In addition to shell-and-tube and air cooled heat exchangers, there is information on plate and frame, spiral and special applications.
